Your Earthmoving Insurance Questions Answered

This insurance policy is a specialised type of equipment insurance that helps protect business owners and operators from financial losses that can occur as a result of damage to, or theft of your earthmoving equipment. This policy can help cover the cost of repairs, replacement parts, and even loss of business income.

There are a number of different factors that can influence the cost of this insurance policy, including the type and size of excavator, the level of coverage you require, your location, and your claims history. Generally speaking, larger and more expensive excavators will cost more to insure than smaller ones.

We take care of all of your insurance management that means that when you purchase a new machine we can remove and add machinery as required and adjust your policy as needed.

Yes, you can. The policies that we place excavators on are a plant and equipment insurance policy which is designed to cover multiple plant and equipment items such as excavators, bobcats even trucks.

Depending on what claims occur will depend whether it’s covered or not. If the excavator has a conditional registration then yes, the insurer will usually cover a legal liability component. However, if it is unregistered the actual usage of the machine would generally be covered under the business public liability insurance policy.

Yes, you can. Most insurers will allow you to add an extension to your current policy for hired in plant items. This can either be as a stand alone policy or can be in addition to your current policy.

If you are hiring out your machines than you should consider dry hire insurance.

All attachments can be considered as long as the sum insured of the machine includes any attachments or modifications in the insured value.

If you own or are liable for the excavator you should consider insuring it. Even equipment used on an occasional basis can be subject to theft, fire and weather related events.

Yes, you can get third party only cover or full comprehensive cover on your machines.
